2014 Films That I am Excited About

I have seen quite a few movies this year already that I was excited about. Captain America: The Winter Soldier blew away my expectations as well as Draft Day (i was not overly excited about Draft Day but it was very very good!). Other solid movies I have seen this year are: Ride Along, The Lego Movie, Robo Cop, 300: Rise of an Empire, Bad Words, Need For Speed, I, Frankenstein and more.

TheĀ  crazy part is that there are still plenty of movies to come! So, here are the next 2014 movies I cannot wait to see:

1. Spiderman 2

I really enjoyed the reboot for Spiderman! Andrew Garfield captures the awkward Peter Parker as well as the sarcastic and cheesey-lined Spiderman I remember growing up! Plus with a whole host of villains to fight, Spiderman will definitely have his hands full. The first film was a solid origins film but the sequel seems far more epic!

2. Guardians of the Galaxy

I would like more trailers to really get a feel for the film, but from what I have seen, the movie looked wicked-awesome. Plus Chris Pratt is awesome! The film looks like it will mix a solid amount of humans and badass-ery so that has given me a lot of excitement for this film.

3. X-Men: Days of Future Past

Honestly, just watch the preview…if you do not think this movie looks awesome then you are probably…not much fun. If Spiderman 2 looks epic, this looks like an epic film in beast-mode! I honestly cannot bat to see this film! It is Probably the movie I am anticipating most this year…with the exception of maybe the Next Hunger Games?

4. 22 Jump Street

LOVED the first one, the second one looks just as hilarious. Nuff’ said.

5. Edge of Tommorrow

Man, I really wish they would release some more trailers for this. It looks very interesting and very intense.

6. How to Train Your Dragon Two

The first HtTYD was awesome, and the dragons were just like adorable cats which is a win. Based on all of the trailers I have seen, it looks like this movie will be better than the first. Hopefully it will deliver.

7. Godzilla

I’ve waited so long for a good Godzilla movie…if this one fails me I will never ever EVER watch another ‘Zilla movie again!!!

8. Neighbors

Seth Rogan and Zach Efron look absolutely hilarious in this! I just hope that they saved some of the funny parts for the film.

9. Transformers: Age of Extinction

So…yeah…I liked the first 3 films. I also like Marky-Mark….. I am hoping that this will be a good combination. It doesn’t look too different from the prior films… which is both good and bad. Good because the previous films were awesome, bad because that means there might not be much originality in this film…. we must wait and see.

10. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

The first one was a very good film. Great origins flick! I am excited to see where they take this film and I really want to know what happens to the human race that leaves the world to the apes.

11. Expendables 3

I finally got around to seeing expendables 2, it is not too different from the first. BUT I liked both of these films… they’re “Ultimate Guy Flicks” as my brother would say. If the third installment is anything like the first two, I will enjoy it as well.

12. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

TMNT has been a bit of a sore spot for a lot of people. You either love it or hate it. I think the Turtles look interesting. They do not look too different from the originals (in the face) but they look way more badass! Also, the face that they’re CGI might make it easier for them to do some amazing things.

13. Hunger Games 3

Sorry, no trailer yet, but hey…I do not need one. I have read all three books and have seen the first two movies…the third movie is going to rock it out. Can’t wait to see Peeta and Gale act like assholes to Katniss…we all know she has had it coming for a long time!

These films are in no particular order, I am just excited to see them! Feel free to leave comments if you think I have left any films out or if you disagree with any my choices. It’s going to be a good year for movies though!
